Every month, while living in Florida, for many years, we had New Moon Ceremony and the Thanksgiving Address was spoken with such reverence and truth. Three Black Feathers spoke so tenderly. Yes, the fire keeper kept the fire burning. The sage was gently whisked upon each person. Yes, the tobacco was given at the East entrance and each person would walk to the fire, lane and quietly say a prayer, and it would waif upwards by the person given that gift to be there for all. Oh, how I miss the ceremonies, the songs we sang and the blessings given and embraced. Aho.

Just read about this address in Braiding Sweetgrass and intend to make it part of my day very often. It is a beautiful reminder of where our focus and care should lie.

I find this English rendition of the Thanksgiving address to be a very valuable lesson to share with English speaking folks. The music helps people feel gratitude and opens their heart to realize the value of the natural forces we all depend , for humans are only consumers , therefore it is our duty to express thanksgiving for the life giving parts of Creation. Creator gave them their duties that they share freely . We are Thankful!

A dear and enlightened friend sent this to me (and others) this Thanksgiving 2020. When I watched it I began crying, it touched and enriched my heart so much. Thanks you from the fullness of my heart for this beautiful and oh so true message. It will stay with me and I will be with it now. It has been sent out & shared with many. Blessings to you from

Our Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen is more than an expression of gratitude; it reminds us of our place with respect to the natural world and re-affirms that while we have freedom to choose, ultimately we are not 'masters of our own domains'. Both of those concepts -- our place here on Turtle Island and our limited control over destiny and our lives -- are lost on many non-Native segments of the mainstream.

.. and thank you for posting your *excellent* videos of you and Ronnie's trip to Stockholm and Scandinavia! I 'need' to visit Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia and your trip seemed to mirror pretty much what I had in mind. Was initially looking for a video of the Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen, stumbled upon your channel and wound up watching most of your videos. Again, niawen'kó:wa! (Mohawk - 'thank you very much'). -- Kanowakeron

This is the way to heal our self ,by accepting this Truth we may have chance to become a human. Here and Now,this Earth and our relationship with ItThat will wake us from the dream of self created horror. Not have of Earth or three quarters,The Whole Earth needs at least our respect.
